Quantum phases of the Shraiman-Siggia model.

چکیده
We examine phases of the Shraiman-Siggia model of lightly-doped, square lattice quantum antiferromagnets in a self-consistent, two-loop, interacting magnon analysis. We find magnetically-ordered and quantum-disordered phases both with and without incommensurate spin correlations. The quantum disordered phases have a pseudo-gap in the spin excitation spectrum. The quantum transition between the magnetically ordered and commensurate quantum-disordered phases is argued to have the dynamic critical exponent z = 1 and the same leading critical behavior as the disordering transition in the pure O(3) sigma model. The relationship to experiments on the doped cuprates is discussed. Typeset using REVTEX

Modulated spiral phases in doped quantum antiferromagnets
2014 We study the spiral phase discovered by Shraiman and Siggia, in the regime of coupling constant where the effective spin wave stiffness is negative. We show that this instability does not signal a phase separation but rather the formation of domain walls in the (1,1) or (1,1) directions on a square lattice, where holes get trapped. We discuss briefly the interplay between dipolar and Coulo...

متن کاملA ug 1 99 4 Theory of electron – hole asymmetry in doped CuO 2 planes
The magnetic phase diagrams, and other physical characteristics, of the hole– doped La2−xSrxCuO4 and electron–doped Nd2−xCexCuO4 high–temperature superconductors are profoundly different. Given that it is envisaged that the simplest Hamiltonians describing these systems are the same, viz. the t − t − J model, this is surprising. Here we relate these physical differences to their ground states’ ...
متن کاملAnomalous scaling for a passive scalar near the Batchelor limit
A class of phenomenological Hopf equations describing mixing of a passive scalar by random flow close to the Batchelor limit ~i.e., advection by random strain and vorticity! is analyzed. In the Batchelor limit multipoint correlators of the scalar are constructed explicitly by exploiting the SL (N ,R) symmetry of the Hopf operator. Hopf equations close to this ‘‘integrable’’ limit are solved via...
متن کاملQuantum Mechanics-Molecular Mechanics Model Study of some Antibiotics and Vitamins in Gas Phases: Investigation of Energy and NMR Chemical Shift
The combination of Quantum Mechanics (QM) and Molecular Mechanics (MM) methods hasbecome alternative tool for many applications that pure QM and MM could not be suitable. The QM/MM method has been used for different type of problems, for example: structuralbiology, surface phenomena, and liquid phase. In this paper we have performed these methods forsome antibiotics and vitamins and then we comp...
